JUNE 2011 – Today we get to see a bit more of my flight gear collection.

Not only do i collect flightgear – I restore it, preserve it, display it – and sell flightgear aviation parts but i also collect flightgear / pilot photos. I also collect assorted aircraft flight and flightgear manuals / books.
Some of these books have inspired me to get involved into writing for aviation magazines various articles around the world.

Today i am showing a insight to my flightgear pilot photo collection.

These photos are from 1950s to 1960s covering Korean War, USAF stateside, Vietnam War and other places. Most show detailed flightgear shots and are fascinating for the collector and historian as you can see so clear detail. The other interest behind why I acquired the photos are that they are from the “classic era” of flying , when you could literally wear whatever you wanted.

Some photos are yellowing with age while others have withstood the passage of time.

There are many more photos out there that I would like to still somehow acquire but haven’t yet due to a variety of reasons. My photo collection will one day hopefully be donated to a aviation museum for future display in Australia.
