USAAF WW2 FIGHTER PILOT DISPLAY

DEC 2010 – Today i have reenacted what a late 1945 USAAF WW2 fighter pilot used in flying training in the USA at various USAAF training bases.

This flight gear was worn flying in baisc trainer aircraft such as PT-23 , BT-13 Vultee Valiant and AT-6 Texans.

The gear comprises A-2 leather jacket size 46, ultra rare K-1 flight suit Large Long size, B-3 flight gloves, tan flight boots, A-14 oxygen mask with AN-BC-1 microphone , rare Extra large ANH-15 flight helmet with ANB-H-1 earphone receivers and finally a AN-6510 seat parachute and harness.

The K-1 flight suit and ANH-15 flight helmet were light weight in material useage for temperate/tropical environments so the pilot wouldn’t be sweating and feeling hot while flying.
Other flight suits/helmets were thicker wool/cotton /leather materials and were suited for cooler/colder climates.
Still you get pretty hot wearing flight gear regardless….
